Gynaecology, Andrology and fertility testing

In veterinary practices, questions on the topics of reproduction and diseases of the reproductive organs in both male and female animals form an extensive part of practice. Because of this, breeding is increasing in meaning.

For planned breeding to succeed, ascertaining when the female dog is in oestrus and carrying out a semen analysis of the male can have great meaning. Additionally, artificial insemination has become a common method used in canine reproductive medicine. All of these procedures can be carried out in our practice.

We will support you with regard to planned breeding before, during and after the puppies' birth. If problems with birthing occur, out 24 hour emergency service can be contacted. Caesarean sections are conducted under especially gentle anaesthetic conditions (epidural anaesthetic) for mother and puppies.

Furthermore, the tests required before breeding (hip and elbow dysplasia, luxating patella) are also conducted in our clinic.

Diseases of the male and female reproductive organs are dealt with with the utmost care.

If you are considering neutering your pet, we are happy to advise you about the best time to do this and the various options available to you, for example endoscopic spaying or conventional spaying of female dogs.

Determining oestrus

Furthermore we offer the opportunity to test the progesterone levels of your female dog in Ng/ml. We analyse it here in our practice, so we are able to give you the numerical results the same day.
